Snowflake Challenge 2024 | part 1

A week of Buggy… including the Snowflake challenge of 2024

This month I’m participating in the Snowflake Challenge over at Dreamwidth. I’ve participated in the past (click here for all of those posts) where I did weekly updates, so let’s continue!

If you’d like to participate as well; click the banner below.

January 1, 2024

Started off well with Meeko getting bit by yet another bunny… I’m not sure how this is going to end…

Challenge #1

In your own space, update your fandom information.

So what I’ve done in 2020 can be found here

Buuut… I also have a severely outdated About me on this website, so I’ll be tackling that (click on it to read the new version!)

Challenge #2

In your own space, set yourself some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private.

I’m not much of a goal setter, mainly because I hate letting myself down. That being said;

Already mentioned some goals in these posts here:

2023 fanfic recap : Write at least one Kol/Bella and more words than I’ve written in the last few years (so that’s more than 40k, should be easy)
Happy New Year: Writing more words and announcing a spreadsheet for [personal profile] meekosan and myself to work off of in regards to ‘blogging’ related to fandoms.

In short; in 2024 I’ll be focussing on writing again instead of roleplaying in FiveM and melting my brain (it surprisingly has a lot of paperwork…). Let’s see if we can break the hyperfixation…  be present.

Challenge #3

Create a wish list of fandom things (podfic, graphics, playlists, canon recs translations, research help, vids, sky’s the limit!) that you’d like to receive.

I have a habit of being a recluse so I don’t ask for much stuff LOL. I hardly talk to people because I either overshare or forget or get embarrassed for speaking my mind…  I’m more than happy with comments on my fics though!

Challenge #4

IceBreaker Challenge! Tell us about yourself.

Isn’t this a bit like Challenge 1? Oh no, that was updating your fandom information. Eep.

Okay. Ahem.

Let’s use the random question generator provided with this challenge for some questions!

1) When are you most productive?

It depends. I like the nights because it’s quiet. I usually write more when my neighbor who has a room next to mine isn’t home because I can hear her music and tv through my noise-cancelling headphones LOL. Or hear her argue with her boyfriend. Jeeeeez.

2) What’s one thing you think you should be doing more often?

I should walk more and interact with other people. I’m very much a lone wolf and I don’t need anybody and I’m fine the way that I’m living. However, I think walking more would definitely help with the mental health thing. I just need new shoes to start!

3) How do you think your reality differs from others you know?

I don’t think my reality differs from others, we all live in the same reality. However, due to my neurodivergence and other issues, other people might think I live in a different reality because they don’t understand how my brain works and don’t or can’t accommodate or live and let live. It’s difficult living in an era where there’s ableism, infantilization when you’re ‘different’ and narrowmindedness.

4) What weird thing do you do when nobody else is around?

Suck my thumb! And if I do do it when someone else is around that I don’t fully trust, I’m tired as fuck and need nap.

5) If you knew the winning lottery numbers, would you keep them to yourself or share with others?

I would keep the numbers to myself, participate in the lottery and then give people I love money first, buy a house, and find good projects to support with the money over the years. Likely keep enough money behind to ensure I’m comfortable for the rest of my life, but other than that, it will get shared!

See you next week for another update on the Snowflake challenge!
