Another fanfic written for the Friday Five (who I’m not going to link again because it looks like they’ve given up on it on their website) buuut… it was fun to revisit an old fandom, an old pairing, which I started with posting my stories online back in 2005 (although I had written many fanfics by hand prior to that).

I APOLOGIZE. I started off SO DAMN WELL.
Bad Buggy. Bad bad, bad bad bad!!
I am so glad I didn’t do NANOWRIMO this year, holy crap. Such mess.
Look, mental health is fickle… That’s all I’m saying.
I’m also not sure how much I can get done, especially seeing as next week I’m going to inflict some trauma on my body by having teeth removed buuuut…
FRESH START. BACK ON THE WAGON WE GO.
One of the things that irk me a lot is when writers don’t finish their stories, leave people hanging for years and years and the story lies unfinished. Either due to disinterest, life getting busy, or a fandom collapse or whatever. And while it irks me, I can also see why that shit happens. And I’m not shaming anyone, I just find it annoying when I get into a real good fic and then it just… never gets updated anymore.
This is the reason why I usually work on only one project at the time, to make sure that YOU get the full experience. Plus, to me, it’s kind of exhausting to keep up with the storylines of multiple stories without it bleeding into each other and making one giant mess out of things.
I usually sit on a good dozen of chapters (if the story is taking me that far) before I start posting, too, so I give myself some wiggle room.
So imagine me falling into that category now. Unfinished story. If there is one story I’m regretting right now, it’s Kingdom.
No, hear me out. I’m still happy with it. I am. It’s different, it’s fun, but… I STARTED IT THREE YEARS AGO and my writing has changed and it really doesn’t help that I lost some notes and now the story became something I’m not happy with and pulling these extra cameos out of my ass and I’m just looking at it and I…
I’d rather complete something that I’m fully happy with and content with than… being on the struggle bus.
I’ve been on the struggle bus with Kingdom for the last 3 years and I need a fresh start.
So Kingdom is one of the ‘lost fics’ out there now, I guess. I set the story to private on my website, it’s still around, but privated, and I *might* revisit it in the future with a complete re-write but I want things to be complete. I do realize that you were enjoying the story so maybe I’ll take that idea and turn it into something similar that I can get behind.
I want to thank you for reading Kingdom and leaving nice comments about it, but I want you to have a good, complete experience and I just can’t give it to you with that story. Not after 3 freaking years.
So, what’s next?
I… I don’t know yet. I have some ideas floating around in my head but I think I just need to write them down and see what sticks. A little birdie told me that someone else is trying to get back into writing, so maybe she and I can do something together like we used to… kick each other’s ass when we’re not updating the story and stuff like that…
By now you guys are familiar with what I write/how I write/where my comfort zone is. Do you maybe have an idea you’d like to see me try?
