And it’s time for another update. Last post was a month ago… I *really* need to get a grip on this whole updating thing.
First of all, there’s now three episodes out of the youtube series that I’m doing with my friend! Click here to watch them all.
Secondly, I’m now a (probationary) DJ over at Truckers.FM. You can find me on the schedule under Buggy, all times are in British Time (EST-5), but I’m usually on between 7 am and 9 am EST. My next show is coming Monday!

So! The Big Bang over at Fictional Retreat has now closed their Authors sign ups, and we have 6 authors, some writing a Big Bang, others writing a Little Bang! This is so great! I’m sure we’ll be getting some awesome stories come September!!
I’m writing an origin story for Myriam Jenkins, so it’ll be a Vampire Diaries/The Originals crossover. The title? Lagniappe. You can find the meaning of the word here. I’m currently working on Chapter 12. Yep, multichapter story!! Even if I finish it, I can’t post it until September, however… nobody got hurt by a little teaser, right? Tell me what you think!
Benidorm was full of fishermen but they never went out further than a few kilometres out. Quite disappointing. But the fish, the food, was good. During one of her restless nights, she decided to take a wander into the village, careful to stay clear of drunks but never in a million years would she have believed what she saw when she turned into an alley.
The man wasn’t having sex with the woman. He was holding her as if she was something to be squeezed; his lips were on her neck, but she could see a small glisten of teeth in the moonlight and the woman was crying out in pain. “Toi! Arrêtez!” Myriam called out bravely, causing the man to pause for a moment and look up at her.
“Oh, French! Don’t worry darling, you’ll be next!” the man replied in French and continued to torment this young woman.
I asked my wifey what else I could add to this update post but uhh, she’s currently useless as she’s attending her country husband’s concert (she’s seeing Luke Bryan in Concert).

Oh, good. It’s not me having some sort of brain fart, because I always thought she was black!
Gina Torres! Love her.
Actually, she was (black) in Beautiful Soul. But ever since her first incarnation she has changed a lot. For the origin story we decided to turn her earlier and had to have her be on the European mainland because of the Originals Timeline. So she’s mixed. In Intertwined, she’s Bella’s twin so she has to be white. And this is not because I have anything against black culture, it just works better for this story that is completely dedicated to her.
And good choices for Myriam! I always thought Shalita Grant as a younger Myriam and Gina Torres for a slightly older one.
As for Kristen Stewart not being the faceclaim for her own character for most of my stories… Why should I? The books came first!
Went and checked out your faceclaims, and I swear all this time I thought Myriam was black, and I’m not even really sure why.
So I went googling for black actresses to find one who fit who I was seeing in my head.
