Dublin, updates!

I had fun stomping around for a few days in Dublin. I walked nearly 50km! This is insane, as that means I walked more than 10km a day for my time there and I don’t even walk that much at home! Not even close!

What I discovered is that Dublin isn’t that great of a city when you don’t like sitting around or drink or shop. It was fun meeting up with two guildies so we had a small guild meet up – no pics, nobody likes to have their picture taken, not even one!

I spent most of Saturday and Sunday by myself because my friends decided to nest in the pub they dubbed ‘home’; that’s so not me! If I wanted to sit around in a pub and do a little sightseeing I would have gone to a place here in my own country and would have saved money while doing so!

3 full days and 2 half days were a little too much, imo.

We were stopped by an Amnesty International campaigner who told us all about how abortion is ILLEGAL in Ireland. This shocked me. A lot of Irish women risk getting arrested by getting an abortion, even after a pregnancy after rape. Some of them go to Britain or other European states to get an abortion. Some try to DIY abort at home and die. How insane is this?! It’s illegal unless the pregnancy endangers the life of the mother. This is the modern, western world we’re talking about; women having no rights over their own bodies. This is insane. Unfortunately, I don’t have the funds to support Amnesty International but I applaud all the work they do for human rights EVERYWHERE.

Alright, now that’s out of the way, let’s give you something for why you’ve subscribed to my blogs or visit my website; UPDATES!

This was posted a few days ago; it was my submission for the Fandom For Mental Health fundraiser. Click on the banner to take you to the story. (Did anyone see the slight nod to another story of mine?!)

I’ve also uploaded chapter 2 of A Lightened Path Home – the title was suggested by Jennifer Torres and the name she chose for her character is Michelle. Keep an eye out for that character! Click on the banner to take you to the chapter.

I’ll also be participating in the Something Wicked contest over at Better In Texas. I have an idea of what I want to do, but my energy levels have been ‘meh’ since I went to Dublin so I hope that my head will jump back into overdrive and have me write something.

Until the next time!
