Oh wow.

On February 6th, I asked for story ideas on my facebook page. Meeko jumped up and told me to write witch!Kol/Bella from The Originals and Twilight respectively.

This required me to re-watch The Originals/The Vampire Diaries because I actually just watched those shows for the pretty. I mean, when I heard Daniel Sharman was going to be on The Originals, I watched the first season just to see what it was about!

I wrote Sanctuaire with the TO and Twilight wikipedias open, especially in the beginning.

I NEVER ever thought anybody but Meeko would read this stuff. I mean, we’re a pretty awesome writing team she and I, and she’s an amazing writer, but my stuff has never been well received (probably because I have a taste for the absurd).

I swear, if it wasn’t for Meeko, Sanctuaire wouldn’t have been here. Her cheerleading, especially at the beginning, did wonders. Her knowledge of both The Originals and Twilight was invaluable, even making me realize that I had a great plot within a plot with Mary Alice Claire/Mary Alice Brandon!

When I was ready to post the first chapter, I did and I was blown away. I mean, I received 14 reviews! How fucking awesome was that?!

Meeko has also been my proxy when it came to ‘socializing online’ and she introduced me to some awesome people, all willing to cheerlead and they also appreciated my input with some ideas for their stories. Value my input and ideas. Apart from Meeko and a friend close by, this hasn’t happened before, you know.

But hey, Sanctuaire. Has been a thrill. Would you believe me when I said that I didn’t plan for it to become THIS BIG? Around 93k of words in just 4 months, all by myself (in comparison: a few years back it took me 2 years to write 40k and I got a huge writer’s block… two years ago I attempted Nano and it broke me).

What amazed me was that my reviewers were active participants. They wanted to know what was going to happen or they said what they thought was going to happen and that was so amazing. One of the guest reviewers asked if I wanted to write an Isaac/Bella, which is Teen Wolf/Twilight and I’ll be writing that next. It’ll be a short one because then I’m going to start on writing THE SEQUEL to Sanctuaire.

Yes, we have a sequel. I mean, the epilogue of Sanctuaire pretty much sets it up. That’s the best thing about writing something with vampires, they last longer, don’t they? *grins* It will feature Vampire!Kol (yes, Nate Buzz) and a different face for Bella (I’ll keep that a secret for now, but I’m sure if you tickle Ahvi, she might give it up). Another new thing for the sequel will be that it’ll be a semi-three-way-crossover with Person of Interest. Not that there’ll be a lot of that fandom in the story, seeing as it’ll be 300 years in the future and (most of) Team Machine has died, but you’ll see :-).

As a thank you for reading Sanctuaire and sticking with it, you can click here for a little something extra; some music I listened to when writing it. Also, then there’s this, a cut scene from chapter 19; I originally thought it’d be fun to give Bella a more severe penalty for changing Jasper and Peter but then realized that it was maybe a little bit too much. But still, I wrote the words.

And I just realized I made a post on how grateful I am for everyone and stuff that I promised not to because I hate these kinds of posts but I’m just really really happy that Sanctuaire was so well received. So thank you. Again.

Buggy.
